What is TPU?

What is TPU?

TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a linear polymer formed by the polymerization of the following three basic components.

  1. 1A diisocyanate NCO-R-NCO
  2. 2A short-chain diol, or chain extender OH-R’-OH
  3. 3A long-chain diol, or polyol OH ~~~~~~ OH

Thermoplastic polymer

As a thermoplastic polymer, TPU can be reshaped and reprocessed many times. This distinctive property has drawn attention across a wide range of industries.

Precise formulation

The properties of TPU vary with the type of polyol used and the ratio of raw materials. Building on years of know-how, SAMBU applies rigorous raw material control and precise formulation to reliably produce and supply high-quality products tailored to customer requirements.
